Bandar seri begawan: 12 babies were born on the 1st of Muharram during Ilal Hijrah 1448, with 7 baby boys and 4 baby girls born in Brunei Muara District. The Ministry of Religious Affairs through the Islamic Syiar Development Division held a Gift Presentation Ceremony for the babies at the Women and Children Centre, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha Hospital, 18th June morning.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the gifts were presented by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Awang Haji Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, who serves as the Coordinating Minister for National Security, Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister of Defence. He was joined by Datin; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ahmaddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, the Coordinating Minister for Social and Manpower Policies and Minister of Home Affairs. The ceremony was also attended by Yang Berhormat Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, the Minister of Religious Affairs.
The gifts included Si Manja accounts, hampers, vouchers for joining TBK Nur Savings, baby essentials, and religious books. Meanwhile, a baby girl was born at Suri Seri Begawan Hospital, Kuala Belait, where gifts were presented by Awang Haji Mohamad Rosli bin Haji Ibrahim, the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Religious Affairs.
