The participants of the 9th Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF Command and Staff Course, CSC, were advised to strengthen and understand their current knowledge by increasing and improving it besides being able to make good and correct decisions in the face of uncertainty. At the same time, they are advised to lead their subordinates effectively during peacetime and in time of conflicts in the defence of the country. This was said by the Second Minister of Defence yesterday morning at the Defence Academy's Graduation Ceremony for Cohort 9 of The Command and Staff Course.
In his Speech, Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof said that the presence of international students from 13 different countries in this year's course have provided a unique opportunity in the sharing of views and issues from many different perspectives. Yang Berhormat Pehin also believes that the course participants have become close friends and have learnt much about each other's cultures, traditions and way of life as this bodes well for the future when they as the Fourth Industrial Revolution generation have to work together to address and overcome common domestic, regional and international issues.
A total of 30 officers comprising officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, RBAF and Royal Brunei Police Forces RBPF as well as 13 international participants from Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Oman, Pakistan, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Thailand and the United States completed the course. This year, the Overall Excellence Award was given to Major Dai Jing from Singapore Armed Forces. Meanwhile, The RBAF Commendation Award was given to Lieutenant Commander Pengiran Mohammed Faren bin Pengiran Mohamad Noor, from the RBAF Joint Force Headquarters. This year marks the CSC's first partnership with Universiti Brunei Darussalam. Also present were Major General Pengiran Dato Paduka Seri Aminan Bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces and Dato Paduka Seri Haji Mohammad Irwan Bin Haji Hambali, Commissioner of the Royal Brunei Police Force, R-B-P-F and Datin Doctor Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor of UBD.
The RBAF CSC aims to broaden officers' perspectives and professional knowledge using tactical and academic approaches and disciplines to study the contemporary strategic environment and its implications on current environment on their practice as defence and security specialists.
