The old rate for Halal Permit is 50 dollars for each product, regardless of types of industry and has no expiry date. However, this rate has been studied and revised. In discussing the budget proposal for the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Minister of Religious Affairs also shared the outcome from these revisions and studies.
Yang Berhormat Pehin said that for the micro industry, the halal permit rate for each product is 5 dollars, while for the small industry, which are businesses that employ 5 to 19 people, it is 150 dollars for 20 products. For the medium industry, which are businesses that employ 20 to 99 people, the rate is 300 dollars for 20 products; the macro-industry, which employs more than 100 people, it is 700 dollars for 20 products; while Multinationals, which are for entrepreneurs who produce products and have branches overseas, are charged one thousand dollars for 20 products.
