Bandar seri begawan: 720 boxes of 'Khalash' dates were donated by the Government of Saudi Arabia to the Ministry of Religious Affairs. This act was carried out as a gesture of care and attention for the well-being of Muslims in Brunei, particularly the asnaf group. The Donation Presentation Ceremony took place at the Multipurpose Hall, Jame' 'Asr Hassanil Bolkiah, Kampung Kiarong.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the donation was received by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohammad Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs. The dates were handed over to Awang Haji Saharuddin bin Haji Petra, Acting Managing Director of Zakat, Waqf, and Baitulmal Affairs, who is responsible for distributing them to the asnaf group. Additionally, the ceremony included the handover of dates to representatives of selected mosques in the four districts.
This donation signifies the close relations, cooperation, and Islamic friendship between Brunei Darussalam and Saudi Arabia.
