The government has contributed an assisted housing complete with a retaining wall to a family in the Tutong District. The house with a retaining wall costs more than 75,000 dollars taken from the poor and destitute asnaf tithe money collection. The recipient, 53-year-old Awang Norzelan bin Haji Zainal, Royal Brunei Armed Forces retiree, lives with his wife and 7 children in Kampung Penanjung.
The house key and certificate of completion was handed over by Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Bahrom bin Pengiran Haji Bahar, Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs as Vice-President of Brunei Islamic Religious Council, MUIB. The stilt assisted housing equipped with 4 bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a shower room and a toilet. The construction of gabion wall including earthworks in the backyard should be made in view of the condition of the soil structure exposed to the hazard of rainwater erosion. Also present was Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong, Member of the Legislative Council who is also Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya, Tutong and Acting Penghulu Mukim of Tutong Town and Awang Haji Abd Aziz bin Haji Akop, Acting Secretary of MUIB.
