The Ministry of Energy, Manpower and Industry yesterday afternoon also held a Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration for its officers and staff. This year's celebration jointly organised by the Human Resources and Corporate Division and the Downstream Energy Division carried a unique concept of only allowing the use of food and drinks utensils that are environmentally friendly.
Present was Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mat Suny bin Haji Md. Hussein, Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy, Manpower and Industry.
Themed "Riang Warna Warni", allocating 8 open booths for the Ministry's Department, Divisions, Units and Statutory Bodies. In its effort to lead and promote climate mitigation action, the Ministry took the opportunity to showcase a Hari Raya celebration conducted in a sustainable manner where only biodegradable cutleries, plates, cups and trash bags were allowed. The use of plastics was highly discouraged and wastes were separated for recycling purposes. A biodegradable fabric panel for the ministry's officers and staff to pledge their climate action was among the main centrepieces at the event.
