The supervision of food and drinks was also raised during the presentation by the Minister of Health. According to Yang Berhormat health care is important in order to avoid the risk of diseases, adding that the country needs healthy and productive citizens to build a prosperous and competitive nation.
The Integrated Health Screening from 2007 to 2011 discovered that on the average, nearly 70% of civil servants do not do sufficient physical activities. The Global School Health Survey 2014 showed more than 87% of children in the country do not perform physical activities. This means only 13% of the country's children take up sufficient physical activities. At the same time, it is alarming to note that incidences of diseases such high blood pressure and diabetes begin early while the patients are in their twenties or thirties. This is a very alarming situation as the country is in need of productive citizens for an excellent socio-economic growth.
