Hi-Tea Reception Marking the Decommissioning Of B-Class Vessels

The B-Class vessels over a period of more than 45 years have continuously provided safe and reliable LNK shipping services to the Brunei LNG project and their customers, completing more than 6 thousand 300 successful cargo deliveries between Brunei Darussalam and Japan. The vessels are being decommissioned this year.

Captain Abdul Mateen Abdurrahman Liew, Healthy, Safety, Security and Environment Manager at the Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad stated the matter at a Hi-Tea reception held at the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong, this afternoon.

The event ran concurrently with the launching of the B-Class Commemorative Coffee Table Book by Yang Berhormat Awang Abdul Mutalib bin Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Setia Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Yusof, Minister of Communications. The book contained history of the vessels since its operation in 1972. The B-Class vessels, Bebatik and Belanak will be decommissioned this month and in June.
