His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah expressed the country's hope to further strengthen the cooperation ties with the Republic of Korea in the field of agriculture and fisheries as well as downstream petrochemical industries. His Majesty in the titah said such cooperation is important in the country's effort to diversify economy. His Majesty made the titah at the state banquet in honour of the State Visit of His Excellency Moon Jae-in, the President of the Republic of Korea and wife, Her Excellency Kim Jung-sook and delegation to the country. The ceremony was held at Istana Nurul Iman, last night.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam welcomed His Excellency Moon Jae-In and wife.
Prior to the State Banquet, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received in audience His Excellency Moon Jae-In and Her Excellency Kim Jung-Sook.
Also in attendance were His Majesty's children; brothers and sisters;
- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah;
- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen;
- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;
- And, His Royal Highness Prince Haji Jefri Bolkiah.

Meanwhile, among the members of His Excellency's delegation at the State Banquet were Her Excellency Kang Kyung-wha, Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Her Excellency Kim Hyun-mee, Minister at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and His Excellency Sung Yunmo, Minister at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.
Doa selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.
His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah said over these years, Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea have been developing cooperation in various field including trade and investment; infrastructure; cultural and people-to-people exchanges. This is further strengthened by the state visits by the President of the Republic of Korea.
His Majesty in his titah said that, in today's world of rapid technological advancement it is important that Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Korea prepare their people with knowledge and skills that are geared towards the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
His Excellency in his return address among others said that ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1984, the Republic of Korea and Brunei Darussalam have been building very strong ties of friendship for 35 years especially in the field of energy and infrastructure.
His Excellency added that his government is actively implementing the new southern policy in order to build the people centre community of peace and prosperity together with the ASEAN as ASEAN and the Republic of Korea are very precious friends.
During the bilateral meeting, both leaders reiterated their commitment in further strengthening cooperation and collaboration in the field of common interests, for the benefits of citizens from both countries. Apart from bilateral cooperation, both leaders also exchanged views on regional and international matters. Both leaders underscored the importance of achieving a harmony between the Brunei Darussalam's Wawasan 2035 and the Republic of Korea's New Southern Policy, thereby generating a synergy for further bolstering the bilateral ties in the years ahead. The two Leaders also agreed to jointly explore potential opportunities in realizing their respective national visions so that these can result in synergy effect.
