His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah stresses the importance of the Khutbah or sermon and its reader as the nerve or heart of religion. His Majesty says if the sermon and the reader are weak, the nerve will be weak too. His Majesty made the titah during the National Isra' Mi'raj celebration this morning. In the titah, His Majesty also touches on performing mass prayers taught in Arabic and religious schools in the country and the need to spread the method to schools under the Ministry of Education. Referring to practical lessons on performing mass prayers taught at the country's religious schools, His Majesty adds this is important not only to teach the students about mass prayers but also to make them like and continue performing prayers in congregation.
