His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Attends State Banquet in Viet Nam

Ha noi: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, attended a State Banquet hosted by His Excellency Luong Cuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, at the International Convention Centre, Ha Noi. His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen accompanied His Majesty at the event.

According to Radio Television Brunei, during the banquet, His Majesty expressed the pleasure of returning to the “City for Peace.” He acknowledged Viet Nam’s progress since joining ASEAN in 1995 in Bandar Seri Begawan, highlighting its ascent as a prominent economy in the region and an esteemed ASEAN member state. His Majesty expressed confidence in Viet Nam’s continued progress under its ‘Vision 2045,’ aiming for prosperity and sustainability. He also praised Viet Nam’s achievements on the international platform, such as its re-election to the United Nations Human Rights Council and its successful hosting of the United Nations Convention Against Cybercrime.

The presence of His Excellency Pham Minh Chinh, Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, further underscored the strong relationship between His Majesty and His Excellency, reflecting the robust bilateral relations between the two nations.

The bilateral ties between Brunei Darussalam and Viet Nam are reinforced through the Comprehensive Partnership. His Majesty highlighted the deepening trade connections, particularly in agriculture and energy sectors, which offer mutual benefits and ensure food and energy security. His Majesty emphasized the need for both countries to collaborate for sustained growth and development. He expressed satisfaction with the strengthening of bilateral ties through the signing of documents during the State Visit. Concluding his remarks, His Majesty looked forward to working closely with Viet Nam and other ASEAN member states to realize the ASEAN Community Vision 2045, aiming for regional peace, security, and stability.
