His Majesty Sultan of Brunei Departs for State Visit to Viet Nam

Ha noi: His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, departed for a State Visit to Ha Noi, the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. The visit, scheduled from 1st to 2nd December 2025, was at the invitation of His Excellency Luong Chuong, President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. Accompanying His Majesty was His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen. Before leaving Istana Nurul Iman, a Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

According to Radio Television Brunei, members of the Royal Family, Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran-pengiran Cheteria, the Speaker of the Legislative Council, Cabinet Ministers, Members of the Privy Council, Deputy Ministers, the Commissioner of Police of the Royal Brunei Police Force, and the Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces were present at His Majesty the Sultan’s Flight Hangar in Rimba to bid farewell to His Majesty.

Upon arrival at Noi Bai International Airport in Ha Noi, His Majesty was welcomed by His Excellency Le Khanh Hai, Chairman of the Office of the President as Minister-in-attendance; Vu Dai Thang, Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee; and His Excellency Nguyen Manh Cuong, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs. Also in attendance were Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan bin Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd. Yusof, Second Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Her Excellency Datin Paduka Malai Hajah Halimah binti Malai Haji Yussof, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brunei Darussalam to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam. His Majesty proceeded to walk past the Static Guard of Honour. His Majesty’s previous State Visit to Viet Nam was from 26th to 28th March 2019, during which the bilateral relations were upgraded to a Comprehensive Partnership.
