His Majesty Unscheduled Visit

 

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam yesterday morning made an unscheduled visit to the Brunei International Airport in Berakas.

 

Among the places first visited by His Majesty was the Post Office. The Monarch took a closer look at the implementation of checks on passengers at the departure hall.

 

Also focused on by His Majesty was the Operations Control Centre which accommodates the Cabin Crew Management, Customer Care Office and Flight Crew.

 

His Majesty’s visit not only ensures that the public facilities provided at the airport fulfils the needs of consumers but also ensuring that the facilities comply with the set standards towards assuring the well-being and safety of the passengers.

 

Operating since 1974, the Brunei International Airport has witnessed numerous developments and has a vital role towards the nation’s economic growth, aside from being one of the main entry gates for tourists.

 

His Majesty continued the visit to the Setia Kenangan Complex in Kiulap and took a closer look at the Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam branch there.

 

Since its establishment in 1988, the Royal Brunei Technical Services is a Government-linked company specialising in Acquisition and Supply Chain services.

 

This was His Majesty’s first unscheduled visit since the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic hits Brunei Darussalam.
