His Majesty Visits to the Residence of the Chief Village Of Kampung Sungai Akar

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam made stop over at several houses of the recipients.

Earlier, His Majesty made a stop at the residence of the Chief Village of Kampong Sungai Akar, Awang Haji Ramlee bin Haji Md Zain. With an area of more than 28 square kilometre, Kampung Sungai Akar has a population of more than 6-thousand people. His Majesty's visit also portrays the monarch's attentiveness on the efficacy of the mukim penghulu institution.

His Majesty then visited a number of recipients' homes under the Panchor, Mengkubau, Mentiri National Housing Scheme. The Mengkubau National Housing Scheme provides more than two thousand terrace and semi-detached houses which were built on an area of about 309 hectares.

The Mengkubau National Housing Scheme was built with a concept of comprehensive housing development. It also has land for the future construction of school, mosque, commercial facilities, community centre, park, playground and recreational area.

Through the Financial Year 2018/2019, the Government has allocated about 10-million dollars to finance projects relating to national housing as part of the government's continuous effort in providing affordable homes specifically for the low-income residents.

For the recipients, the awarding of house keys was an invaluable and meaningful award to them. His Majesty's attentiveness and care on the welfare of his subjects have brought about progress, prosperity and tranquillity to the country in which the residents can live peacefully and harmony.

The recipients and occupants of the National Housing Scheme homes will maintain and preserve the harmony of nationhood, establish unity and a neighbourhood spirit, well-being and prosperity in a peaceful environment and mutually respectful as well as adhering to the conditions stipulated by the Housing Development Department, Ministry of Development.

His Majesty ended his visit by attending a Luncheon at the Mangrove Paradise Resort in Mukim Kota Batu. The people and residents in the country are lucky for the continuous commitment of His Majesty's government in providing a sustainable houses towards making Wawasan Brunei 2035 a realisation.
