His Majesty Welcoming Ceremony

His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al- Marhum Sultan Haji Omar 'Ali Saifuddien Sa'adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha binti Al-Marhum Pengiran Pemancha Pengiran Anak Haji Mohamed Alam yesterday morning received His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong the 16th of Malaysia, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong, Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah binti AlMarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj who are in the country for a 3-day state visit. The welcoming ceremony for His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong took place at Istana Nurul Iman.

The road leading to Istana Nurul Iman were filled with the presence of over 2 thousand students waving the miniature flags of Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia to welcome His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

At Istana Nurul Iman, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri welcomed the arrival of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Accompanying His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong from the hotel to Istana Nurul Iman were His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office as the personal representative of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah binti Pengiran Haji Salleh Ab-Rahaman.

Also present as Royals-in-Attendance were Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Lela Cheteria Sahibun Najabah Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Aziz bin Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.

Also in attendance was Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apoing, Minister of Home Affairs as Minister-in-Attendance.

Shortly after arriving, His Majesty and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri together with His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong received the Royal Salute, accompanied with the National Anthems of both countries and a 21-gun salute.

His Majesty and His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong the 16th of Malaysia then inspected the Guard of Honour mounted by members of the Royal Brunei Land Forces.

His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong the 16th of Malaysia and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong were then introduced to members of the Royal Family; the Special Advisor to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Minister at the Prime Minister's Office; Speaker of the Legislative Council; Cabinet Ministers; Deputy Ministers; Senior Officers and their respective spouses. His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah was installed as the 16th Yang Di-Pertuan Agong at the Installation Ceremony on the 30th of last month. His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong described the presence of Their Majesties as a manifestation of the warm and close brotherly ties between Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam.

Subsequently, members of the Malaysian royal family and members of the Malaysian delegation were introduced to His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri.

Accompanying His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong were:

- Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafizatullah binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah;

- Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Jihan Azizah 'Athiyatullah binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah;

- Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Kemala Tengku Hajah Dato' Aishah binti Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah; AND

- Yang Amat Mulia Tengku Puteri Seri Lela Manja Tengku Dato Hajah Nong Fatimah binti Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah.

His Majesty and Her Majesty together with His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong then proceeded to Cheradi Laila Kenchana for the Audience Ceremony. Also in attendance were:

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Malik and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Raabi'atul 'Adawiyyah binti Pengiran Haji Bolkiah;

- His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Wakeel;

- His Royal Highness Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Her Royal Highness Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Zariah;

- His Royal Highness Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah and Yang Amat Mulia Pengiran Bini Hajah Faizah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Rashidah Sa'adatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Majeedah Nuurul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Fadzilah Lubabul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Ameerah Wardatul Bolkiah;

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Masna, Ambassador-at-Large at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; AND

- Her Royal Highness Princess Hajah Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam as well as other members of the Royal Family.

During the audience ceremony, His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam presented the Darjah Kerabat Mahkota Brunei or the Royal Family Order of the Crown of Brunei, DKMB to His Majesty the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

His Majesty also presented the Darjah Kerabat Laila Utama Yang Amat Dihormati or The Most Esteemed Family Order of Brunei, D-K to Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong.

Meanwhile, Her Majesty Duli Raja Isteri received the Royal Malaysian Honour of Darjah Utama Seri Mahkota Negara or the Most Exalted Order of the Crown of the Realm, DMN which was awarded by His Majesty the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia.

The Doa Selamat was recited by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti.

The State Visit of His Majesty the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia and Her Majesty the Raja Permaisuri Agong clearly reflects the enhancement and preservation of goodwill and friendly ties between the royal families and peoples of the two countries.
