His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, Chairman of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Committee of Governors yesterday morning attended a Tahlil Ceremony for Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim.
Organised by the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah, the ceremony took place at the Royal Mausoleum. Upon arrival, His Royal Highness was greeted by Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doctor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, State Mufti as Second Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Committee of Governors; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Mokti bin Haji Mohd Daud, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office as member of the Yayasan Committee of Governors and Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Lailaraja Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, Second Minister of Defence as Chairman of Yayasan Board of Directors.
The ceremony commenced with the reading of Surah Al-Fatihah, followed by the reading of Surah Yasin led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar, who also led the reading of Tahlil and Doa Arwah.
His Royal Highness then proceeded to pour the ‘Ayeng Asah-Asahan’ or scented water on the graves of Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Al-Marhumah Duli Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit and Al-Marhum His Royal Highness Prince Haji ‘Abdul ‘Azim. The tahlil ceremony was one of the Yayasan’s annual activity in Ramadhan.
