The Flag Hoisting Ceremony and Distribution of the National Flag in conjunction with the 34th National Day celebration were also held in the four districts. The flag hoisting ceremonies are hoped to instil the spirits of patriotism and nationhood among citizens and residents in the country, based on the Malay Islamic Monarchy concept.
At the Brunei Muara District Office, the flag hoisting ceremony began with a march-past led by Awang Mohd Yassin bin Ahmed, the Acting Assistant Brunei Muara District Officer, accompanied by Royal Brunei Armed Forces Band cadets and 34 national flag bearers comprising participants from the Youth Love the Nation Programme. The national flag was then handed over to Awang Misle bin Haji Abd Karim, the Brunei Muara District Officer, to be hoisted by the Royal Brunei Police Force personnel.
The ceremony proceeded with the presentation of the national flags to mukim penghulus in the Brunei Muara district. Also in attendance were Legislative Council members, Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Ali bin Pengiran Maon, Penghulu of Mukim Berakas 'B'; Yang Berhormat Awang Naim bin Haji Kamis, Penghulu of Mukim Kota Batu; Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Tahamit bin Haji Nudin, Penghulu of Mukim Gadong 'A'; Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Mohimin bin Haji Johari @ Jahari, Village Chief of Kampung Limau Manis and Yang Berhormat Pengiran Haji Mohamed bin Pengiran Haji Osman@ Othman, Village Chief of Kampung Masjid Lama, Pekan Muara, Sabun and Pelumpong.
In the Temburong District, the ceremony was held at the open area of the Wharf in Bangar Town. Present was Awang Mohd Amir Hairil bin Haji Mahmud, Temburong District Officer. The ceremony began with the presentation of the flag by the delegation carrying the national flag led by Awang Mohammad Khairul Shahrul bin Haji Duahim, the Acting Assistant Temburong District Officer, to the Temburong District Officer, which was later hoisted by the Royal Brunei Police Force personnel. The ceremony proceeded with the distribution of the national flags to mukim penghulus in the district and participants from the Youth Love the Nation Programme. Also present were Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Emran bin Haji Sabtu, member of the Legislative Council and Superintendent of Police Haji Azree bin Haji Abd Manaf, the Office Commanding of the Temburong District Police as the Co-Chairman of the ceremony.
Meanwhile in the Tutong District, a similar ceremony took place at the Civic Centre Complex area. The delegation of flag bearers was headed by Awang Abdul Kahar bin Haji Yahya, Acting Special Duties Officer, Tutong District Office. The flag was handed over to Awang Haji Adnan bin Haji Adam, the Acting Tutong District Officer, who later handed it over to the Royal Brunei Police Force personnel to be hoisted. The ceremony also saw the presentation of the national flags to penghulus from 8 mukims in the Tutong District. Also in attendance were Legislative Council members, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Umarali bin Esong, Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Abdul Wahab bin Apong who is also the Penghulu of Mukim Tanjong Maya and Yang Berhormat Awang Haji Ramli bin Haji Lahit as the Penghulu of Mukim Telisai.
Meanwhile, the Menara Cendera Kenangan in Kuala Belait became the focus for the ceremony in the Belait District. Present was Abdol Hazis bin Haji Ahad, the Acting Belait District Officer. The delegation carrying the national flag was led by Mohammad Abdul Hadi bin Hajii Mohammad Syarifuddin, Special Duties Officer, Grade II.
