The Minister of Home Affairs yesterday gave his thumbs up to the participants of the final full dress rehearsal for the get-together ceremony with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.
Pehin Udana Khatib Dato Paduka Seri Setia Ustaz Haji Awang Badaruddin bin Pengarah Dato Paduka Haji Awang Othman was accompanied by Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, the Deputy Minister of Home Affairs and Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Tutong District Officer as well as senior officials at the rehearsal.
“I would like to congratulate the committee and the District Office of Tutong for the good preparation for the performance,” the Minister of Home Affairs said.
“The theme of the performance was very clear and it showcases the unity of the people in the district which is the rich in cultural diversity,” he added.
Meanwhile, Shaminan bin Suhaili, the chairperson of the special performance and the scriptwriter said the performance has three segments namely, Iltizam Generasiku, Patriotisma Tekad Keteguhan Bangsa and Belia Berbudi.
A total of 569 participants comprising students, NGOs, public servants and community members from Tutong District are involved in the performance. The students have been rehearsing for more than three weeks. The participants are all set and are in high spirits to perform at the get-together ceremony with His Majesty, he added.
The get-together ceremony with His Majesty for Tutong District will take place on August 18. Of the four, Tutong is the first district to host the ceremony.
