As part of the preparations for the country to act as host to the ASEAN Tourism Forum, ATF that will be held on the 12th to 15th of January 2020, the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism through the Tourism Development Department with the collaboration of SEAMEO Voctech, Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE and the Brunei Association of Hotels is currently holding a "Service Excellence in Hospitality / Food Service Industry" training for restaurants in Brunei Darussalam. The training was launched yesterday morning at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism.
The training was officiated by Awang Wardi bin Haji Mohammad Ali, Deputy Permanent Secretary for Tourism at the Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism. 100 restaurants took part in the training which runs throughout this month until October. The training is also an effort to ensure the good quality of the services. The training is hoped to assist participants explore basic customer service in the context of a competitive hospitality industry environment.
