’Ibadah Qurban’ or Sacrificial Rite that is performed during Hari Raya Aidil Adha and Tasyrik Days, which is from the 10th to the 13th Zulhijjah, is an opportunity for the Muslim ummah to earn multitude of blessings. This opportunity should be seized by those who can afford to perform the sacrificial rite. Apart from earning multitude of blessings from Allah S.W.T, the sacrificial rite can also instil love between the rich and the poor in sharing sustenance. Various parties in the country performs the sacrificial rite, and the ceremonies are performed according to the guideline set by the Ministry of Health.
The Suri Seri Begawan Raja Pengiran Anak Damit Mosque Takmir Committee distributed sacrificial meat to over 50 recipients of the poor and destitute, orphans as well as the sacrificial rite participants. The distribution was led by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs as the mosque takmir committee’s advisor.
Meanwhile, 10 buffaloes and cows were sacrificed this year for the Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Mosque in Kampung Sungai Akar. The sacrificial meat was distributed by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Ali bin Apong, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism as the patron of the mosque’s takmir committee to the poor and destitute as well as village residents. Also distributing the sacrificial meat was Awang Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Jamaluddin, Acting Head of Kampung Sungai Akar. 20 volunteers from the Sultan Sharif Ali Islamic University, UNISSA also took part in the sacrificial meat distribution.
The Kampung Sungai Bunga Consultative Council also distributed sacrificial meat to 20 recipients of the poor in the said village. In attendance was Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. Also present, Yang Berhormat Awang Naim bin Haji Kamis, member of the Legislative Council.
