IBTE 30th Convocation

New normal following the  COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 have changed the workforce requirement landscape in terms of competence and skills throughout the world including in Brunei Darussalam. The Minister of Health stated the matter at the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE 30th Convocation yesterday MORNING. According to Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doctor Awang Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar, empowering Technical and Vocational Education and Training, T-VET is vital as the said field is expected to assist the country in shaping human capital towards creating new technologies so that graduates are capable of addressing the challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. The convocation was held at the International Convention Centre in Berakas.

 

The Minister of Health said to ensure the implemented programmes are inline with the industry’s need and manpower demand, IBTE is urged to continue cooperating with stakeholders such as the Manpower and Employment Council, MPEC, Manpower Industry Steering Committee, MISC as well as industries in together taking the opportunity to improve and add value in every programme offered to students.

 

In the morning session, one thousand 981 graduates from various programmes were feted, namely 55 graduates from T-VET academy, 2 diploma graduates, 32 HN-Tec graduates; 695 N-Tec graduates and 197 others received the Industrial Skills Qualification certificate. Also present, Dato Seri Paduka Awang Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister, Department of Energy at the Prime Minister’s Office as chairman of IBTE’s Board of Governors.
