IBTE School of Aviation – DBNS 2020-2035 Dissemination Session


Youth in this country are giving positive feedback in improving the initiatives provided by the Government for the progress of the youth. They also aspire to seize existing opportunities including education, employment, training and identity building programmes. Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa binti Awang Haji Ash’ari, a Member of the Legislative Council in an interview with RTB during the 4th National Youth Policy and Strategy, DBNS, 2020 – 2035 Dissemination Programme explained that from the 3 dissemination sessions, youth has expressed their hope to participate in various programmes that have been provided in enhancing the development of youth in the country. The fourth session took place yesterday afternoon at IBTE School of Aviation in Berakas.


Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa shared that among the pattern found was lack of awareness among youth on programmes and volunteer bodies available in the country. The youth has expressed their desires to participate in Youth Identity Development programme, Capacity enhancement programme and many more. However, they are not aware that such programmes are provided by the government departments and non-governmental bodies. The youth has also expressed how they can contribute to the nation such as through creative industry.


86 students from IBTE Sultan Saiful Rijal Campus, IBTE Mechanical Campus, IBTE Business Campus, IBTE Agro-Technology Campus and IBTE Nakhoda Ragam Campus attended the session. It aimed to introduce DBNS 2020-2035, youth programmes and initiatives as well as to obtain input and youth views for the betterment of the country. Yang Berhormat Dayang Khairunnisa as the Chairperson of the DBNS Youth Advisory Group and President of Brunei Youth Council also touched on Youth Snapshot that contained youth programmes and skill training inline with Wawasan Brunei Dua Ribu Tiga Puluh Lima.


DBNS 2020-2035 Dissemination Session organised by Youth Advisory Group in collaboration with Brunei Youth Council, was participated by strategic partners from the Government Sector including Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam, AMBD; Darussalam Enterprise, DARe; Sekretariat Tetap Wawasan Brunei Dua Ribu Tiga Puluh Lima; Youth Development Centre; Department of Community Development, JAPEM and Brunei Climate Change Secretariat.
