Some one hundred less fortunate families in the Brunei Muara District received 5 hundred and 50 food packs from the Brunei Council on Social Welfare, MKM. The distribution of the food packs for breaking of the fast is held for 10 days starting from the second day of fasting.
The contribution is in the form of catered cooked food and picked up by the recipients themselves at the MKM Office in Kampung Sungai Hanching. The presentation was officiated by Awang Haji Mohd Yusof bin Halim, The Head of the MKM Humanitarian Mission. Apart from that, the MKM members as well as volunteers from the public and private sectors also collaborated and lent a hand in distributing the food packs to the recipients' homes. Also volunteering were graduates from a number of higher education institutions.
The MKM's noble desire to organise such an activity was in order for the less fortunate to also be able to break the fast in a proper manner. This year, the iftar food packs project which is the third of its kind, received financial contributions from donors in the country.
