A Filipino woman was found guilty under the Immigration Act and Regulations, Chapter 17 for overstaying in the country after her visit pass expired.
Mary Ann Delos Varona, aged 53 was sentenced to a $1,000 fine and 6 months imprisonment, and additional one month imprisonment in default. The defendant was arrested on the 19th of January 2022, and her visit pass had expired since the 20th of February 2012.
