Increase In Hospitalisation for COVID-19 Paediatric Patients

The issue of providing COVID-19 vaccine to children was also shared during a question and answer session in the media conference.

The administration of COVID-19 vaccine to children was given following the third wave driven by the Omicron variant which saw an increase in paediatric patients to hospitals locally and abroad.

Meanwhile, the interval between the first and second dose for children is 3 weeks and at present the booster injection has not been given.

Former COVID-19 paediatric patients are also advised to obtain vaccine injections to gain wider immune protection in terms of prevention as well as infection control.
