Indonesian Man Fined Over BND 55,000 for Excise Order Violation

Bandar seri begawan: An Indonesian man was fined a total of BND 55,048 or 20 months imprisonment in default after he was found guilty of violating the Excise Order 2006.

According to Radio Television Brunei, for the first charge, Agus Suhada was fined BND 50,048 or 15 months imprisonment in default for possession of 63 cartons and 20 packets of cigarettes of various brands without a valid permit. For the second charge, possession of 3 cartons and 10 packets of cigarettes of various brands, he was fined BND 5,000 or 5 months imprisonment in default.

All the contraband was confiscated to be handed over to the government for disposal. Additionally, cash amounting to BND 75.00 along with a mobile phone was confiscated to be handed over to the government for further action.
