Muhammad Hadi bin Abdullah was sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for for leaving the Mahad COVID-19 Holding Area in Tutong District on the 24th of September 2021 when he was issued the Quarantine Order. The suspect was also fined $5,000 or additional 3 months imprisonment in default for misuse of drugs in September 2018.
Meanwhile, 2 locals were charged at the Magistrate’s Court on the 29th of September 2021 for offences under the Infectious Diseases Act. Adi Hasmin Anak Garunchin was charged under Section 15 4 B, of the Infectious Diseases Act, Chapter 204 for contravening the quarantine order. Meanwhile, Bahjah binti Haji Ibrahim was charged for conspiring with the first defendant. Both defendants pleaded guilty to the charge and were sentenced to one month imprisonment starting on the 6th of October 2021.
