The 'check-in counter' of the Brunei International Airport in Berakas begins its baggage handling for the country's haj pilgrims who will depart for the holy city of Madinah in four flights starting tomorrow. The intending haj pilgrims are reminded to send their luggage a day prior to their flight departure. They are also advised to bring along their international passport, ticket and related documents prior to the airport and follow the set procedures.
The intending haj pilgrims' baggage sent in today are for those who departing on the first flight to Madinah scheduled at 8 tomorrow morning. While for the second flight scheduled to be departed this Friday at 11 in the morning, the intending haj pilgrims need to send their baggage tomorrow starting 12 noon to 3 in the afternoon. For the third flight, departs on Saturday at 3 in the afternoon, baggage needs to be sent to the Brunei International Airport on Friday from 8.30 to 10.30 in the evening, and for the fourth flight, scheduled to be departed on Sunday, the intending haj pilgrims need to send their baggage on Saturday from 8.30 until 10.30 in the evening.
All intending haj pilgrims are also reminded not to bring prohibited goods while on the plane. This year, 1034 country's haj pilgrims including haj and medical officers will perform haj at the holy city of Makkah. Four companies are given the authority to handle the haj services for this year, namely Darussalam Holdings Sendirian Berhad; Straits Central Agencies Brunei Sendirian Berhad; At Taqwa Travel Tours Sendirian Berhad; and Raudah Al Amin Sendirian Berhad.
