International Volunteers Day is celebrated every 5th of December. It aims to bring together the volunteers in together carrying out voluntary works while appreciating the services and contributions that have been given. In this regard, the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organised the ‘Day of Action’ campaign in conjunction with the International Volunteers Day 2021 celebration, which will be held until the 28th of February 2022.
The campaign aims to hold a marathon of volunteer works in the four districts with the involvement of government agencies, the private sector and non-governmental movements. The project’s implementation is held virtually through social media.
This year’s Day of Action has nine clusters. Government agencies, private sectors, non-governmental movements and youth groups who are interested to participate can download the ‘Mengalinga’ app and register as an organisation.
