Investing in Youth is Critical for Development

Investing in youth is critical to achieving inclusive, equitable and sustainable development for present and future generations. In an interview with RTB, The Secretary-General of the Commonwealth said that according to the Commonwealth Youth Development Index, the Asia Region has over 1.7 billion young people under the age of 25, with more than five hundred million young people aged between 15 and 29. The Right Honourable Patricia Scotland QC who recently attended the Commonwealth Youth Senior Officers Meeting for the Asia region in the country, stressed that there is a need to design and deliver national youth strategies for meeting the needs and aspirations of young people.
