Islamic Architectural Footprint Exhibition

The Bandar Seri Begawan Islamic Architectural Footprint Exhibition which was held at the Arrival Hall of the Brunei International Airport and Atrium complex of the Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah in the capital is now being held at the The Empire Hotel and Country Club in Jerudong. Members of the public can visit the exhibition at Level 1of the hotel's Atrium until 30th of this month.

The features of Islamic civilization that are highlighted in Bandar Seri Begawan, are showcased through the Exhibition. The exhibition showcases several Islamic architectures and designs around Bandar Seri Begawan, and the materials related to the Islamic Malay Monarchy, MIB concept. It is not only portrays the physical aspect but also the Islamic civilisation features that are tangible such as architectural, visual and artefacts. The exhibition also highlights on the intangible civilisation aspects such as monarchy system, administration, education, religion and other life features.

The exhibition is among the major event organised in conjunction with Bandar Seri Begawan as the Islamic Civilisation Capital in the Asia Region 2019. The selection of Bandar Seri Begawan as the Islamic Civilization for the Asia Region for this year is an initiative of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, ISESCO, based on the selection criteria set by the organization which possesses an Islamic Civilization and History. This recognition is a golden opportunity to highlight the culture and values of daily life based on MIB which has been practised of more than 600 years.
