The iUsahawan programme initiated by the Ministry of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry aimed to encourage more youth to participate in entrepreneurship. Speaking at the iUsahawan Contract Signing Ceremony yesterday morning, the Permanent Secretary for Manpower at the Ministry of Energy (Energy and Manpower) and Industry said the iUsahawan programme is intended for youth entrepreneurs to start their own businesses by giving them opportunity to participate in low-risks contracts, where they can secure their first contract on a competitive basis. Awang Haji Zolkiflee bin Haji Karim expressed hope that the entrepreneurs will use the programme to further grow their business and grow into multi-national companies, consistent with Wawasan Negara 2035.
One iUsahawan contract with Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sendirian Berhad, BSP, and two iUsahawan contract with Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad were awarded at the ceremony. Provision of Canteen and Vending Machine Services contract was awarded to Syarikat Amira Barakah. Signing on behalf of BSP was Awang Haji Husaini bin Abdul Hamid, BSP Head of Power and Amenities, while signing on behalf of Syarikat Amira Barakah was Dk Nur Saffanah binti Pengiran Rahim, the owner of the company.
Meanwhile, provision of Event Management Services contract was awarded to Mortar Events. The contract was signed by Dayang Mizan Adiliah binti Haji Mohd Deli, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Manager of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad and Mohammad Fathullah Fuad bin Awang Haji Abdullah, the Managing Director of Mortar Events. While the provision of cleaning, manpower and related services contract was awarded to Munch Brunch Canteen. The contract was signed by Dayang Mizan Adiliah binti Haji Mohd Deli, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs Manager of Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad, and Dayang Hajah Haryanie binti Haji Bujang, Managing Director of Munch Brunch Company.
