Presentation of prizes for the Jawi Calligraphy Competition for Mosque Takmir Committees Nationwide in conjunction with the Hijrah 1444 New Year Celebration was held yesterday afternoon at Jame Asr Hassanil Bolkiah in Kiarong. The competition is hoped to provide exposure on the types of writing as well as the correct style and technique of the basic method of jawi calligraphy.
Awang Haji Shahruddin bin Haji Abdul Wahid from the Kampung Pulaie Mosque won the competition. Prizes to winners were presented by Awang Haji Amir Hisham bin Haji Masri, Acting Director of Mosque Affairs. The 2-day workshop and competition which ended on the 3rd of August was organised by the Library Section, Mosque Affairs Department with the cooperation of the Jame’ Asr Hassanil Bolkiah Takmir Committee Members.
