106 intending Haj pilgrims from the Ministry of Defence and the Royal Brunei Armed Forces received donations at the Jiwa Murni ceremony, yesterday. They comprise 12 Ministry of Defence civilians, 27 RBAF personnel, 7 former civilian staff and 13 RBAF retirees as well as their respective families. Among the intending pilgrims are Retired First Admiral Dato Seri Pahlawan Abd Aziz Bin Tamit, Deputy Minister of Defence and wife as well as Pengiran Hajah Zety Sufina Binti Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Sani, Deputy permanent Secretary for Administration and Finance at the Ministry of Defence and spouse.
Donations and gifts comprising medical supplies were presented to the pilgrims by the Deputy Minister of Defence and wife. Earlier a short talk on Haj entitled "Meraih Haji Yang Mabrur" or "Gaining a blessed Haj" was delivered by Awang Ruslan bin Haji Sulaiman, senior religious officer, RBAF Religious Department. Also present were Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, Commander of the RBAF and Retired Captain Dato Paduka Awang Abd Rahman bin Begawan Mudim Dato Paduka Haji Bakar, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence.
