8 Oct. - Minister of Justice receives Bang Kloi-Lipe mob that surrounded Government House, sends to Department of Rights Protection and Department of Enforcement to solve the problem. Pol. Col. Thawee Sodsong, Minister of Justice, gave an opportunity for the leaders of the Bang Kloi protesters to come and talk and listen to the problems from the case where they came to file a complaint at Government House about the problem of farmland. The protest leaders said that the villagers came to complain at Government House about 2 issues: 1. To expedite the appointment of the committee chairman to replace Pol. Gen. Surachet Hakpal, former deputy national police chief, who is the chairman whose term has expired, causing the private sector to expedite the return of the land. The village leaders believe that the person who will replace Pol. Gen. Surachet is likely to be Mr. Chanchao Chaiyanukit, former permanent secretary of the Ministry of Justice. The Bang Kloi villagers are suffering greatly from the private sector forcing villagers to demolish their land in a total of 30 cases, including 2 juveniles. At this point, the court has already ruled that they are on their land. But the issue of whether the land document is legal or not has not been considered. At the same time, it also reflected the additional problem that there are still villagers who have the same problem and have been sued, 34 individuals and 339 families, which the DSI officials reported that from the DSI's investigation into the land plot, it was found that the person holding the SorKor.1 stated the amount of 19 rai but occupied only 22 rai, which the DSI has already filed a request to revoke the right to possess this land plot because the DSI found that it may be an unlawful notification of possession of this plot. At the same time, the case has been forwarded to the NACC, but no indictment has been made in this case. Currently, it is in the mediation process between the villagers and the private sector, which will last until January 2025. Pol. Col. Ta wi said that initially, the Ministry of Justice will provide assistance to the villagers by helping to file a request to postpone the enforcement before the end of the mediation period in January 2025, and to submit the case to the court, attaching the DSI investigation. The acquisition of the Sor Kor 1 title deed is likely to be unlawful. As for the dispute between the state and private sectors over ownership, it is a major problem. The 'Bang Kloi' case is a long-standing case in which the defendants are confident that they lived in the area before the state declared it a national park. The case is at the prosecutor's office. Therefore, the Department of Rights and Liberties Protection has been assigned to investigate what assistance can be provided and will assign the Justice Fund to support lawyers or assets used in the legal proceedings, which will require further investigation. As for the 'Lipe' case, it is another case of a similar nature, but it is a case of a private party suing a private party. The c ase is at the enforcement stage, so the Department of Enforcement has been assigned to mediate or, if there is new evidence that can be revived or justice is served, to investigate. Both cases will be taken care of by the Ministry of Justice, and the details will depend on the facts and evidence. -119- Thai News Agency Source: Thai News Agency
