The Premier Forum was chaired by Associate Professor Doctor Haji Awang Asbol Bin Haji Mail, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts and Social Science at University Brunei Darussalam, UBD. Four panellists shared information and knowledge on the importance of Islamic manuscript in the development and growth of Islamic da'wah or propagation that is capable of producing an excellent civilisation in the history of human civilisation's national conduct or constitution.

While explaining on how manuscripts came to be regarded as one of the landmarks of Islamic civilisation, Professor Doctor Osman Fathurahman, a staff of Republic of Indonesia's Ministry of Religious Affairs in Communication and Information Management, said that manuscripts including those that can be found in the Malay Archipelago were the undeniable proof of success of the ummah's civilisation.

When addressing the question whether manuscripts are also considered as 'turats' or heritage in the form of old age religious books, Dato Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mazanan bin Haji Yusof, Assistant State Mufti at the State Mufti Department explained that Islamic manuscripts are more synonymous with the Turats Religious Books. Although Turats Religious Books have existed since several centuries ago, the knowledge poured by the Prophet's companions and early era clerics are still relevant until today. In fact, they became a policy guideline not only in matter pertaining to Islamic laws and implementation of religious obligations, they also act as reference in daily life within the society and country.

Professor Doctor Jelani Harun from Universiti Sains Malaysia shared on how far a national conduct or constitution is part of the Islamic manuscript.

Associate Professor Ampuan Doctor Haji Brahim bin Ampuan Haji Tengah, Director of the Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Centre for Islamic Studies at UBD underlined on several methods to attract the country's youth to be more interested in Islamic manuscript studies and understanding that are currently only popular among scholars.

The Doa Selamat was read by Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Awang Haji Salim bin Haji Besar.

His Royal Highness then signed the commemorative parchment.

The Premier Forum is hoped to further improve the public's understanding on the importance of Islamic manuscript that acts as a platform in delivering the knowledge from scholars and intellectuals of the past for research by the younger generation. This is for the benefit of the country's civilisation development in line with the Malay Islamic Monarchy Concept and the Zikir Nation aspiration in achieving the Wawasan Brunei 2035.
