Launch of Brunei Cybershop Fair 2019

E-Commerce is not a new phenomenon in Brunei Darussalam. 7 out 10 people were already using e-Commerce. This was found by AITI during their survey at Consumer Fair last year. Although the survey is encouraging but there is still a need to shift the e-Commerce activities towards online purchasing from the local e-Commerce vendors in order to generate revenue that can significantly contribute to the growth of the economy. These matters were stressed by Dayang Julianah binti Haji Ali Ahmad, Deputy Chief Executive of AITI during the Launching Ceremony of the Brunei CyberShop Fair 2019 yesterday morning at Airport Mall Atrium in Berakas.

It was officiated by Dato Seri Paduka Haji Matsatejo bin Sokiaw, Deputy Minister of Energy for Manpower & Industry and Chairman of AITI.

The CyberShop Fair is part of AITI's efforts to encourage the public to shop and trade online, particularly through local e-Commerce vendors. It is a platform where various local ecommerce vendors in Brunei Darussalam to showcase their products and services with attractive discounts and promotions offer, as well as to raise awareness on the safe use of e-Commerce in order to increase consumer's confidence to transact online. The two day fair held in conjunction with the CyberShop Fest 2019 is supported by DARe. It has gathered around 25 local online vendors, e-Commerce and security providers, banks and government agencies.
