The Universiti Teknologi Brunei, UTB Library has a collection of over 50,000 volumes of books including those donated, and about 1,000 Media Collection units, besides having two online databases namely Scopus and Science Direct. This allows students and staff to access the best sources of information with high quality and up-to-date research publications from around the world. The Vice Chancellor of UTB said this during the launching ceremony of the Professor Maryam Mirzakhani Shelf, a collection of books donated by the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Brunei Darussalam to UTB, yesterday afternoon. Professor Dr. Dayang Hajah Zohrah binti Haji Sulaiman added, UTB’s library is gradually adding to the e-Textbook collection as a source for the latest information.
The virtual book handover ceremony was witnessed by His Excellency Dr. Saeed Khatib Zadeh, Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, Her Excellency Homeira Rigi, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the country said that the contribution of the collection is an important step towards promoting scientific and academic cooperation between the two countries. The Professor Maryam Mirzakhani Shelf contains 30 publications outlining the contributions made by renowned scholars in various fields.
