The increasing involvement of locals in the film industry is a positive sign as the industry has the potential in generating the development of the country's economy. Last night, another locally produced film entitled ''Ranggau'' was launched. The horror genre film is a joint production by QD Roses Vision Production and Bego Hazirul Production. The film's launch took place at Seri Q-LAP Mall.
The launch was officiated by Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. The 1 hour 28 minute film covers 2 eras, the past and present, and tells the story of a black magic practitioner who keeps an apparition called ''Ranggau'' for his own interest and satisfaction. The film portrays lessons on the evil of practising deviant acts or black magic. Also present was Awang Haji Muhammad Suffian Bin Haji Bungsu, Director of Radio Television Brunei.
