A local IT company has taken the initiative for a Greener Brunei Darussalam, through the launch of the Atmosphiere Mobile Application. The application aims to support the implementation of the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy, BNCCP's second strategy, which is planting 500 thousand trees by 2035 to reduce pollution.
The launching was officiated by Dayang Doctor Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak, Permanent Secretary for Planning, Land Use and Environment at the Ministry of Development. Developed by SPHIERE Sendirian Berhad, the application was a joint effort between Shell Livewire Brunei, the Forestry Department and Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation, Ministry of Primary Resources and Tourism, and the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat. Held at the Berakas Forest Reserve, the event was followed by the planting of 105 saplings.
