Manpower Industry Steering Committee Working Group in Construction, MISC-WG Construction which is a committee under the Manpower Planning and Employment Council, MPEC and the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, IBTE, yesterday afternoon held the Launching Ceremony of the Dual TVET Programme. The programme was jointly conducted by MISC-WG Construction and IBTE in collaboration with the Ministry of Development, Ministry of Education and the MPEC Secretariat. It was launched for the 2 year HNTec in Construction and Draughting, Dual TVET course, to be conducted by IBTE. It took place at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.
The programme was jointly officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Dr. Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah, Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy as the Chairman of MPEC; Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Engineer Awang Haji Suhaimi bin Haji Gafar, Minister of Development and Datin Seri Paduka Dr. Hajah Romaizah binti Haji Mohd Salleh, Acting Minister of Education.
In her speech, Yang Berhormat Architect Siti Rozaimeriyanty binti Dato Seri Laila Jasa Haji Abdul Rahman, Member of the Legislative Council as the President of PUJA said the programme is one of the important achievements in ensuring that graduates in the country acquire the skills and competencies that are particularly relevant in the construction industry.
During the ceremony, companies participating in the program were awarded with certificates of appreciation presented by Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and the Second Minister of Finance and Economy. The Dual TVET Programme will commence at the end of this month. Also present was Dato Seri Paduka Architect Awang Haji Marzuke bin Hj Mohsin, Deputy Minister of Development.
