Royal Brunei Airlines launched its first scheduled inaugural flight connecting Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei Darussalam to Incheon, Seoul, South Korea with twice weekly flight schedule on Sundays and Thursdays. The Reception Ceremony in conjunction to the inaugural schedule flight to South Korea was held at the Anjung Saujana in Brunei International Airport in Berakas.
The launching was officiated by His Excellency Cho Won-Myung, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to Brunei Darussalam. Mr. Karam Chand, RB Chief Executive Officer in his welcoming remarks mentioned that as the National Airlines, they are fully behind the development of tourism to Brunei Darussalam and assist in the economic diversification. These initiatives will lead to higher tourism receipts, growth in jobs both at R-B and in the tourism sector and lastly, connect Brunei to rest of the world which aid Foreign Direct Investment, FDI. South Korea is Brunei's second largest trading partner and they have seen a significant growth in visitors from both countries.
