The close relationship between Brunei Darussalam and the Sultanate of Oman and its educational institutions is not something new. For the past fifteen years, both countries have established close cooperation between their academic institutions. Brunei Darussalam also has inter-library cooperation with the Sultan Qaboos University Library, Oman. In the latest development, The Sultanate of Oman was allocated the Oman Publication Corner at the Universiti Brunei Darussalam Library which was launched yesterday.
The publication corner was launched by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Doktor Haji Zulkarnain bin Haji Hanafi, Minister of Health. The corner showcased over 70 books and multimedia covering various aspects of Oman's history, economy, culture, arts, and literature. The books and multimedia were donated by the Oman Embassy in the country. Also present was Datin Doctor Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz, Vice Chancellor of UBD. His Excellency Sheikh Ahmad bin Hashil Al Maskari, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Brunei Darussalam in an interview with RTB said, the publication corner aims to spread the arabic literature and culture to local communities.
