To raise public awareness on healthy eating habits for healthy minds, Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam, BIBD yesterday morning launched Project BIBD TIFFIN during Hari Raya Aidilfitri Celebration. The function took place at Kampung Menunggol.
The project was launched by Doctor Haji Azman bin Haji Ahmad, the Acting Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Education. The project is a result of close collaboration between the Ministry of Education, BIBD and selected strategic partners. It will provide nutritious and balanced meals containing the right carbohydrates, proteins, vegetables and fruits as well as in meeting the calories and nutrients meals essential for the student’s development. The first pilot programme will commence in the Nakhoda Abdul Rashid Primary School, Kampung Menunggol, and will be extended to other selected rural school in all four districts.
At the same time, Doctor Haji Azman also presented the Basic Food Programme to 70 heads of family in Kampung Menunggol.
At the event, Dayang Hajah Noraini binti Haji Sulaiman, the BIBD Deputy Managing Director presented donations in the form of reading and reference books to the school’s library, as well as gifts to 47 students.
