The Immigration and National Registration Department has launched the 'Smart Q' System Pilot Project today. The system allows early bookings for identity card registrations queue slot, and avoid the hassle of waiting in line for a long time and running out of queue number.
Speaking at the project launching yesterday, Yang Berhormat Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia Doctor Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong, Minister of Home Affairs explained that the new improvement is one of the government's efforts through the Ministry of Home Affairs in improving the quality of services to the public.
The 'Smart Q' system is a joint venture project by the Immigration and National Registration Department and the Rhymin and Partners Company. It uses the 'QueUP' application that can be downloaded through Appstore or Googleplay. The pilot project will be implemented in the period of 3 months, and it will be extended to other services in the Immigration and National Registration Department in stages. Apart from the 'Smart Q' project, the department also launched several improvements, including the establishment of the Customer Service team early this year which is responsible for creating action plans to improve services provided to the department's customers. The 'Smart Q' System roadshow for disseminating information to the public on the procedures to use the 'QueUP' application starts today until the 7th of August at the lobby of the Immigration and National Registration Department Headquarters in Jalan Menteri Besar.
Members of the public are welcomed to attend the roadshow, and for more information on the 'Smart Q' system, visit the department's website at www.immigration.gov.bn. Also present at the launching were Permanent and Deputy Permanent Secretaries at the Ministry of Home Affairs. In an interview with RTB, Awang Salminan bin Haji Burut, the Director of the Immigration and National Registration Department said with the new system, the public can now plan and book their desired slots early without waiting in line for long while having any business with the department.
