During the last Legislative Council session, the importance of employment and entrepreneurship which can also be embedded among the disabled or people with different abilities, OKU was also highlighted. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport said more than 100 OKU societies have been given employment either in the private or government sector. Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin underscored this matter at the Launching of the SMARTER Brunei - TelBru Hydroponics Garden in conjunction with World Autism Awareness Day 2019 yesterday morning.

TelBru under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) marked a new milestone with SMARTER Brunei with the launch of the Garden. With the support of the Public, Private, Differently-Abled Partnership (PPDP), the project aimed at providing opportunities for growth among SMARTER's differently-abled youths who, over the past few months, have also successfully operated the NGO's Bistro under close supervision.

The establishment of the hydroponic farm, which utilises the latest hydroponics practice, provides SMARTER students with another avenue for income generation as TelBru looks to support the NGO towards inculcating independence among those living with autism, an aspect of which is considered crucial in their life-skills development.
