Berakas: The SMS Brunei Prihatin for Orphans Fund for 1447 Hijrah/2026 is now open for donations until 12th of November 2026. The initiative was launched by the Department of Community Development, JAPEM, in collaboration with the Department of Radio Television Brunei, Datastream Digital Sendirian Berhad, Progresif Sendirian Berhad, and Imagine Sendirian Berhad. The launching ceremony was held at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium in Berakas on the afternoon of 12th February.
According to Radio Television Brunei, the event was officiated by Yang Berhormat Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Nazmi Mohamad, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports. To make donations, individuals can type YATIM followed by the amount 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 50, or 100 without space and send to 38111 for DST and Progresif users or 39999 for Imagine users.
The ceremony featured the presentation of donations from last year's SMS Brunei Prihatin campaign and the awarding of scholarship certificates for the Orphan Scholarship Programme for Session 5 to two selected orphans.
