Launching Of South East Asia Council’s 24th Summit

The well-known prominent writers' contributions and works are not only able to preserve culture and moral in writing but also to raise the prestige of respective nations and race. Yang Berhormat Retired Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Aminuddin Ihsan bin Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin explained that the awarding of MASTERA Literature is not only act as a symbol of personal achievement of a writer but it is more of a form of recognition that expresses a high appreciation towards commitment contribute by a writer throughout their involvement in the world of literature and its activity. The matter was stressed by the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports at the launching ceremony of the South East Asia Council, MASTERA's 24th Summit last night.

According to Yang Berhormat, the prestigious award presented by the Government of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam shows support given by the country's government in literary world specifically to the prominent literary figures from the MASTERA member countries. The award has its own significant and value equivalent to other international level of literature awards. The Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports also hoped that with the awarding will provide inspiration and motivation to other writers specifically the young writers to actively continue in producing works that can be proud of, not only regionally but also internationally.

The ceremony ran concurrently with the presentation of MASTERA Literature Award to several prominent literary figure on their excellence contributions in the development of literary world from their respective countries. Among the recipients were Yang Berhormat Pehin Datu Seri Maharaja Dato Paduka Seri Setia Doktor Ustaz Haji Awang Abdul Aziz bin Juned, the State Mufti also known as Adi Rumi. Also present was Datin Paduka Dr Hajah Norlila binti Dato Paduka Haji Abdul Jalil, Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
