Launching Of Talented Athlete Sports Camp

Athletes must strengthen their identity, leadership, endurance and strength in terms of physical, mental and spiritual before participating in any tournament. The application of Islamic values through religious programmes is also important for the athletes to cultivate the practice of reciting ‘doa’ not only in daily life but also before facing the opponent during competition and helping to overcome nervousness. The Permanent Secretary for Sports at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports highlighted these matters during the Launching of the Talented Athlete Sports Camp. The event took place yesterday morning at Outward Bound Brunei Darussalam, OBBD, Temburong District.

Pengiran Mohammad Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud further explained that the Talented Athlete Sports Camp provides an opportunity for athletes from different sports to unite and foster team spirit and patriotism while representing the country. 35 athletes under the Youth and Sports Department Succession Scheme from various sports are participating in the programme. The 4-day camp will be held until 8th December.
