Anggerek desa: In the context of national human capital development, the Ministry of Education sees higher education as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training (T-VET) as complementary learning pathways to shape an inclusive life-long learning ecosystem that is relevant with future needs. The matter was stressed upon at the launching of the WorldSkills Brunei National Competition 2026. It took place on the afternoon of January 26th at a hotel in Anggerek Desa.
According to Radio Television Brunei, Doctor Haji Azman bin Ahmad, Permanent Secretary for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, explained that the involvement of education institutions and industry partners clearly reflects the 'whole-of-nation' approach in producing a highly skilled workforce that is relevant and resilient as well as ready to face future challenges. Sixteen skill areas will be competed at the 3-day competition which starts on January 27th at BRIDEX, Jerudong, with the participation of colleges and secondary schools, schools under the Institute of Brunei Technical Education, higher education institutions, and training providers.
